Story By: ASHLEY MCCUBBIN / WALLY WILSON RACING – OWEN SOUND, ONT. CA – As Wally Wilson Racing continues to evolve, they are proud to reveal that they will be expanding to a two-car effort for select Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modified presented by Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd., Touchwood Cabinets, and The Fyre Place & Patio Shop events in 2020.
While Wally Wilson is expected to run the full schedule himself, there will be a guest driver for select races across the schedule. The first of those guest drivers is 2018 Sunset Speedway Super Stock Champion Coltin Everingham, who will be making his series debut,
“This is a huge opportunity,” Everingham said. “Not many people ask you to drive for them ! I’m super honored to try this new adventure!”
The excitement is echoed throughout the team, as well.
“Dad (Paul Wilson) and I are very excited to have Coltin running a few races for us this season,” Wally Wilson shared. “We’ve watched how much he’s progressed over the last few years, and I’ve been lucky enough to become good friends with him. The guy can really wheel a car in any situation and gets the most of what he’s got!”
Since making his debut behind the wheel, Everingham has continued to progress each season that he has put under his belt. The 2018 campaign at Sunset Speedway in the Super Stock division saw him reach a high, winning the championship with 10 feature top-five’s and 14 feature top-10’s, with an average finish of 4.21. He returned to the Innisfil, Ontario oval in 2019, scoring six top-five’s, highlighted by a victory on June 29.
Going into the three-race schedule with WWR in 2020, Everingham admits that he’s pretty hard on himself and aims high with his goals.
“I’m hoping to be in contentions for top 10’s and maybe crack the top 5, with little to no mistakes,” he added.
The exact races that Everingham will run will be released on a future date once the full 2020 schedule is finalized for Wally Wilson Racing.
Wally Wilson Racing is proud to be supported by The Fyre Place & Patio Shop and Have1.com in 2020. Additional sponsors will also be released in the future.
