Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – WILLIAMSON, NY – Steve Ross, who was a staple at Spencer Speedway for decades, as well as a successful local business owner, will be honored at the requests of his family and friends on Friday, August 23rd.
Ross, who was a competitor and a sponsor with his businesses, RPM and Ontario Truck and Auto Parts, will be the focal point for the Race of Champions Super Stock Series for their 30-lap feature.
The 30-lap feature will currently pay $1,000-to-win.
“Steve was always to help racers out,” stated veteran Rochester area racer and current point-leader in the Race of Champions Super Stock Series, Tom Barron. “Ontario Truck and Auto is still on my car to this day. I hope we can have a great night that truly honors Steve. We are really looking forward to this.”
The Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series, Race of Champions Four Cylinder Dash Series and the Wilbert’s U-Pull It Super Six Series will join the card as part of the Tribute to Steve Ross.
The “Food Truck Frenzy” featuring local food trucks and tastes from the area will also make its return.
The gates open at 5:00 pm at Spencer Speedway for fans, with qualifying to follow at 7:15 pm on Friday, August 23.
