Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / JASON SIMMONS RACING – OSWEGO, NY – Coming off of an opening weekend plagued with mechanical issues, followed by a scheduled week off at the ‘Steel Palace,’ Tyler Thompson and Jason Simmons Racing are more than ready for a return to Oswego Speedway this Saturday for the annual Novelis Supermodified Twin 35’s.
Fueling issues at Oswego’s opener on May 25 kept Thompson off of the Speedway for hot laps, but the team rebounded in heat racing action with a fine second place finish.
Rain would halt the night’s program, bringing everyone back on Sunday morning and unfortunately, Thompson’s struggles continued as engine issues sidelined the team in the day’s first 50-lap main event.
Two weeks of hard work has the team back and ready for this weekend’s program at Oswego Speedway, starting with Fast Friday testing from 4-8 p.m.
