Story By: CAMDEN PROUD / OSWEGO SPEEDWAY – OSWEGO, NY – The second event as part of Oswego Speedway’s reciprocal agreement with the International Supermodified Association will be held this Saturday, June 8 in form of the Novelis Supermodified Twin 35’s.
For this weekend’s Twin 35’s, any ISMA car in attendance will receive $750 in total start money as long as that car starts both of the two main events which are set to pay $1,200 each to the winner.
Several ISMA drivers took advantage of Oswego’s first reciprocal program on May 25 including Dan Bowes, Chris Perley, Dave McKnight, Tim Jedrzejek, and Jon McKennedy.
Bowes is again expected at Oswego for his second double feature show in two weeks, while Ben Seitz also plans to join the field in the Soule Racing No. 32.
Due to the cancellation of the Midwest Supermodified Series event scheduled for Hillside / Holland Speedway on June 22, Oswego’s show on the same date has since been added to the reciprocal agreement.
Now, any ISMA franchise team that participates in the Helena Chemical Company ‘Road to the Championship’ 50 for Novelis Supermodifieds will receive a minimum of $750 in start money on that date as well.
The first reciprocal event on ISMA’s schedule is set for Saturday, June 29 at the Monadnock Speedway in New Hampshire. Any Oswego team that participates in this show will be extended ISMA franchise start money of $1,000.

Burke’s Do It Best Home Centers and Bosco’s Presents Supermodified Twin 35’s This Saturday
Burke’s Do It Best Home Centers and Bosco’s Meat Market will present an action packed program at Oswego Speedway this Saturday, June 8, featuring Twin 35-lap features for the Novelis Supermodifieds plus Pathfinder Bank SBS and Super Stocks.
Following a Nicotra Racing sweep in the season opening Jim Shampine Memorial Twin 50’s two weeks earlier, competitors in the Supermodified division will again have two chances at victory lane as this weekend brings Oswego’s second double feature program in a row.
Early on, Opening Night winner and defending track champion Otto Sitterly leads the Novelis Supermodified point standings ahead of Doug Didero, Keith Shampine, Alison Sload, and Jeff Abold in the top five.
In one of the most historic and popular victories in Oswego Speedway history, Sload won the second Shampine Memorial Twin on May 25, and will continue her quest for more victories with the Nicotra team this weekend.
With two main events in the books, Joe Gosek, Dan Bowes, Dave Shullick Jr, Dan Connors Jr. and Brandon Bellinger round out the top ten in the Supermodified point standings. Michael Barnes, Dave Gruel, Tim Snyder, Chris Perley and Logan Rayvals trail in the top fifteen.
Joining the Novelis Supermodifieds on Saturday night will be the always competitive Pathfinder Bank SBS division, which is being led into the month of June by Tony White Memorial champ Dave Cliff and the Barbeau Racing No. 50.
Cliff will look to make it two in a row on June 8, but will have to fend off Missile Motorsports teammates David LaTulip and Anthony Losurdo to do so. LaTulip and Losurdo ride second and fifth in points, but completed the podium in a close battle with Cliff on Opening Day.
Talented teenaged driver Joshua Sokolic, along with the two cars teams of Greg O’Connor and Tony Pisa, Cameron Rowe and Tim Glidden Sr, and Russ Bartlett and Travis Bartlett will all be in action for Saturday’s 30-lap main as well.
While the 350 Supermodified division receives the night off on June 8, that does not mean fans will lack for racing action as the Sunoco New York Super Stock Series will be in town for their 30-lap special presented by Aratari Auto Color.
Over 25 Super Stocks are expected for the inaugural NYSS event at the speedway including defending champion Nick Robinson, former Oswego Super Stock regular Joe Miller, and several series front runners including Bill Frisbie, Jake Wylie, Scott Dinzler, and more.
Saturday’s activities will get underway with hot laps at 4:15pm. The pit window will open at 3:00pm while grandstand gates open at 4:00pm. Group time trials for the Supermodifieds and SBS are set to begin at 6:00pm with heat racing taking the green flag at 6:45pm.
Novelis Supermodified qualifiers will be first on Saturday, followed by Super Stock heats and Pathfinder Bank SBS heats. There will be a brief intermission before the program heads straight into the four main events.
The first Supermodified Twin 35 will open the feature portion of the show with the Super Stock 30, SBS 30, and second Supermodified Twin 35 taking place shortly thereafter.
Admission for Saturday will be $35 for a pit pass, $20 for GA, or $25 for reserved tickets. All access passes including admission to the track’s climate controlled VIP suites and outdoor skydeck are also available for $75.
