Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – FORT DRUM, NY – Evans Mill Speedway near Fort Drum, New York and Race of Champions management jointly announce the addition of a fourth Race of Champions Asphalt Sportsman Modified Series race on Sunday, September 9.
The race will be a 50-lap $2,000-to-win event to kick off the four race Series for the Race of Champions Asphalt Sportsman Series, which has the Series champion earning an additional $1,000 for their efforts. The event is part of the Evans Mill Speedway “Battle of the Border” which includes a National Qualifier for the INEX Legends.
“This is a great step forward for this event,” stated Vern LaFave, promoter at Evan Mills Speedway. “We have been working on our Modified division and growing it. This is a great step for us and we look forward to an exciting to event on September 9.”
The race is presented by long-time “North” country Motorsports supporter, Number One Speed, based in Watertown, New York. Number One Speed was established in 1983 as a racecar parts supplier quickly gaining the reputation as knowledgeable and reliable supplier when they expanded into the Pick Up Truck Accessory business with a complete showroom, warehouse and installation center at 712 Bradley Street in Watertown.
Evan Mills Speedway will be hosting an open practice for teams in all divisions on Saturday, September 8.
