Story By: CALE KING / AMERICAN-CANADIAN TOUR – BARRE, VT – After a restful off weekend, the American-Canadian Tour is ready to return to Epping, New Hampshire’s Star Speedway after a four-year hiatus for the Coastal Clash 150.
In partnership with the Maine-based Pro All Stars Series (PASS), the American-Canadian Tour co-promotes the marquee four division event that includes the PASS Super Late Models, New England Supermodified Series (NESS) and PASS Modifieds at Star Speedway with a special 5:00pm Post Time on Saturday, June 22.
Kulwicki Driver Development Program (KDDP) finalist Derek Gluchacki continues to piece together his dream season on the American-Canadian Tour. The Dartmouth, Massachusetts driver claimed his third-consecutive Northeast Classic win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway to start the year and has yet to finish outside the top-ten in the first five events of a thirteen event schedule in 2024. Center Conway, New Hampshire’s Gabe Brown continues to chase Gluchacki from second in the standings, finishing on the podium during the last four events in a strong bid for the point lead.
Five different winners, three of them first-time checkered-flag-bearers, have showcased the American-Canadian Tour’s competitive nature and Saturday’s Coastal Clash 150 at Star Speedway is certainly shaping up to crown number six. High on the list are a pair of Star Speedway home-trackers Jimmy Renfrew Jr. and Erick Sands. Both drivers returned home last Saturday to dial in their rides for the Coastal Clash, and did so quite successfully. Renfrew brought the Chad Sullivan-owned #0NH to a Star Speedway weekly series win with Sands coming in second against the hometown crowd on Saturday, expect both to be looking for the same against their Tour competition this weekend.
Sands and Renfrew aren’t the only ones not to count out this weekend. Blainville, Quebec’s Jonathan Bouvrette ran from shotgun on the field up to a fourth-place finish in the Tour’s last visit back in 2019 and looks to best that run this Saturday. Star’s interesting grooves could also lend a hand to hard charging Touring stars like Cam Huntress, Jeremy Sorel, Remi Perreault, Bryan Wall Jr., Cole Littlewood and more! Star Speedway sends along a unified front of home-turf defenders in Randy Cole, Nathan Leclair, Cole Robie and Colby Meserve on the early entry list with Ryan Flood and Shawn Swallow also set to join the fun.
