Story By: KYLE SOUZA / JUSTIN BONSIGNORE RACING – HOLTSVILLE, NY – Justin Bonsignore and the Ken Massa Motorsports team are preparing for battle at Seekonk Speedway in Massachusetts this Saturday night, June 1. Bonsignore will drive the No. 51 Phoenix Communications Inc. machine in the J&R Precast 150, the sixth race of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season.
Bonsignore is a former Seekonk winner in Tour competition – rocketing to Victory Lane in 2018 – in the midst of a season that ended with his first career championship. Bonsignore has since won two more titles. Overall, he has four top-five finishes in five career Seekonk starts and has 103 laps led at the Massachusetts third-mile.
“The race at Seekonk last year was completely different than anything we had experienced before, with some new pavement in the corners,” Bonsignore said. “Now that we have a race under our belt with the new pavement, we’re excited to head back there and use what we learned last year. We’ve been consistent to start 2024, but Ryan Stone and the guys in the shop have been working hard to keep improving our program.”
The schedule for race day at Seekonk includes one NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour practice session from 3:10-3:50 p.m., followed by single-car Mayhew Tools qualifying at 5:20 p.m. and the green flag for the J&R Precast 150 at 8 p.m. Tickets for race day are available online at SeekonkSpeedway.com. The track will also have NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series divisions in action – the Late Models for 50 laps, along with the Sport Trucks and Sportsman for 25 laps each.
The show will begin with a special ceremony honoring the life of the late Carl “Bugsy” Stevens at 5:30 p.m. Bugsy was a former Seekonk and NASCAR Modified champion, who passed away last week.
