
Story By: DINO OBERTO / MAHONING VALLEY SPEEDWAY – LEHIGHTON, PA – It’s “Kids Night II” this coming Saturday evening, June 17, at Lehighton’s Mahoning Valley Speedway.
The younger set will be treated to a fun-filled time of special activities which will include a Banner Contest, treasure hunt and a chance to wave the green flag plus more.
And of course there will be racing taking place led by the return of the 602 Crate Modifieds. The 602s last ran on May 13 with Nick Baer collecting his first win of the season in a close finish over Bobby Jones.
Zach Lenardo has also been to Victory Lane with the class, wining for the first time on May 6. Broc Brown was the season opening winner on April 22 which was Race#1 of the Evergreen Raceway/Mahoning Valley Speedway Duel Track Series.
There is also a bonus of $200 to the highest finishing Crate car with 10” wheels courtesy of Aqua Duck Water Transport of New Tripoli.
Late Models, Street Stocks, Harry’s U-Pull-It Hobby Stocks and Futures will all be in action as well.
Race time is 6:00 pm. Pits open at 11:30 with early paid practice ($25 per car) running from noon to 3:00 pm. Warm-ups start at 4:00 pm. Grandstands also open at 4:00.
Pit admission is $40 per person and adult grandstand admission is $15, $2 off for seniors 65+. Children 10 and under are free.
Mahoning Valley Speedway will close out the month of June with the “Paul Koehler Sr. Hall of Fame Tribute.” The Modifieds will contest in a 75-lap/$2250-to-win feature.
Street Stocks, Harry’s U-Pull-It Hobby Stocks and Futures will join in the action plus the Xcel 600 Modifieds will return for the first time since 2015. The JuiceBox Division will run during intermission.
