Story By: HALMAR FRIESEN RACING – STATESVILLE, NC – It’s time for another first for Stewart Friesen. Thursday night will be his first time ever racing at Richmond Raceway and the first time the NASCAR Truck Series has raced on the track since 2005.
Stewart will be starting 13th in the event which can be seen live on Fox Sports 1 at 8PM.
“Richmond is another track that we haven’t raced at before which is exciting,” Friesen said. “We ended up with a top ten last week at Darlington and that was great. This is our last shot at making it into the playoffs and I know that the team is up to the challenge.”
While this is the Halmar Friesen team’s last chance to make the playoffs, Stewart knows his team will be prepared.
“It’s always hard to have your back up against the wall,” he said. “However, sometimes, that is when the hard work pays off.”
Friesen will be utilizing Chassis #001, which was last used at Gateway. Stage 1 ends on lap 70. Stage 2 ends on lap 140 and Stage 3 will be lap 250.
The Sprakers, NY driver is currently 14th in the Truck Series standings. Stewart must win to get in.
After the eighth place finish at Darlington, HFR was able to donate $5,000 to a local South Carolina food bank thanks to the Halmar “Racing To Beat Hunger” campaign. The program continues into Richmond, with the goal to raise awareness for hunger and to raise $200,000 for local food banks.
Halmar is matching donations from fans, sponsors, etc. up to $100,000. For each NASCAR Truck race this season that the #52 team finishes in the top 10 we will donate $5,000 to a local food bank.
For each win we will donate $10,000. Join us and donate at www.halmarracingtobeathunger.com and we will match your donations up to $100,000. Let’s continue to make a difference!
