Story By: NASCAR – OHSWEKEN, ONT – Kenny Wallace’s ‘Thank You’ tour is making a stop in Canada.
The 53-year-old brother of NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace announced his tour would include nine dirt racing events across Texas, North Dakota, Indian, Michigan, Arkanasas, Missouri, Texas, Arizona and … Ontario.
Wallace will participate in the Aug. 18 NASCAR Pinty’s Series event at Ohsweken Speedway. Ohsweken will mark the first dirt event in the Canada stock car series’ history.
Wallace has made 904 starts across the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series. He collected nine wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and finished second in the championship in 1991.
Wallace has made one previous start in Canada’s premier stock car series, on July 1, 2003 when it was the CASCAR Series. He finished 18th in the Dodge Canada Day Shootout presented by Mopar at the old Cayuga International Speedway. That race also featured Cole Pearn, Sterling Marlin and Geoffrey Bodine. Cayuga has since been refurbished and re-opened as Jukasa Motor Speedway.
Current NASCAR driver Stewart Friesen previously anounced he’d drive the No. 24 for 22 Racing in the Ohsweken ran. Friesen, a highly-successful dirt racer, finished fourth in 2019 in the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series.
