Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / JASON SIMMONS RACING – OSWEGO, NY – In just one week, the winter racing scene will roar to life as Jason Simmons Racing and a host of other eager teams prepare for the opening round of the Indoor Auto Racing Championship fueled by VP Fuels at the PPL Center in Allentown, PA on January 3-4.
JSR will travel to Allentown armed with four weekend entries, including two high-powered TQ Midgets for drivers Tyler Thompson and Michael Barnes, as well as two agile Champ Karts for racers Tyler Brown and Dan Kapuscinski.
Last year, Thompson showed tremendous speed the entire weekend in Allentown TQ Midget action, landing a top ten finish in the weekend finale.
Brown came on strong in the Friday night Champ Kart main in 2019, taking second to eventual series champion, Brandon Rusczek.
This year’s two day racing weekend will begin on Friday, January 3 with complete programs for the TQ Midgets and Champ Karts. Doors will open for fans at 6 p.m. on January 3 with racing taking the green flag at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, January 4 the TQ Midgets will compete in their second show of the weekend, this time joined by the Slingshots. Doors open for fans at 5 p.m. on Saturday with a FANFEST autograph session set for 5:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
Following Allentown, JSR will prepare for the annual Gamblers Classic inside the famous Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ on January 31 and February 1.
The winter series will conclude on March 13-14 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY.
