Column By: JESSY MILLER / RPW – BROOKLYN, MI – Michigan Speedway, Ford manufacturer and Captain Rodger Penske’s backyard. It’s always a big deal when a Ford wins in Ford country. It’s an even bigger deal when one of those drivers is a Team Penske driver.
Joey Logano manage to top that by winning while the Captain and Simon Pagenaud (Team Penske IndyCar driver) was celebrating his Indy500 win in the White House.
The driver of the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford won Sunday’s race from the pole position after leading a majority of the laps. The race was sent into Over Time when Erik Jones went around, spinning in the grass. After the race was over, Logano received congratulatory bumps from Kurt Busch.
