Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – NORTH EAST, PA – Race of Champions Asphalt Modified, Four Cylinder Dash and T.Q. Midget Series competitors have a big night ahead of them this coming Saturday at Lake Erie Speedway as a prelude to the 69th Annual Presque Isle Downs and Casino weekend in late September.
This weekend, Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series competitors have a 75-lap challenge in the Lake Erie 75 presented by Jim Moss Builders. Lake Erie has become one of the most anticipated race dates on the schedule.
Former track champion, George Skora, III, of Eden, N.Y., is seeking to use his Lake Erie experience to propel him into the good run he’s been looking for.
“We know the track, we’ve had good cars, we just haven’t been able to show it and I am hoping that Saturday night, we can turn the tide,” stated Skora. “We know we can get the job done, we know it, we just have to execute and have some things go our way. We are really looking forward to Saturday night at Lake Erie.”
Melissa Loretto has once again raised lap money for the driver’s to participate in the “Lucky 15” lap program, reaching nearly $2,000 in honor of her late Father Pete. Pete Loretto was a true motorsport enthusiast throughout the region.
The Race of Champions Four Cylinder Dash Series joins program. The Race of Champions T.Q. Midget Series will make its debut on Saturday evening as well with a 25-lap feature.
