Column By: JESSY MILLER / RPW – BRISTOL, TN – Kyle Busch wins Bristol due to strategy call during late race restart. While most lead lap cars pit during a caution for BLANK with around fifteen to go, Ky. Busch and his brother Kurt decided to stay out. The green flag fell and the Busch Brothers drove away from the rest of the field. Ku. Busch kissed the wall with a few laps left in the race and followed his brother across the finish line. This was Ky. Busch’s 8th win at Bristol Motor Speedway, and his third of the year. His other two wins came in Auto Club and Texas.

Ku. Busch finished second place behind his younger brother Ky Busch. “It was a tough battle…” Ku. Busch said, “I’m like him right now, all mad.” Busch said with a grin. “I was gonna wreck my little brother to win,”
You got to love the honesty! 😂@KurtBusch wasn’t going to hold anything back if he caught his brother at @BMSUpdates. pic.twitter.com/YiCOmLoLW3

Despite Penske cars dominating most of the race (lead almost 340 laps of the 500 together), Joey Logano was in 3rd place. “I was hoping we had more laps left,” Logano said with a smile. Logano had a fast car all race but gave up his lead for four tires on pit road during the final caution of the race. He was unable to recover, however, he was still smiling during his interview.
While NASCAR was attempting to lineup the cars for the final restart Brad Keselowski received a ‘failure to follow directions’ penalty for not being in line. Keselowski and crew chief Paul Wolfe planned to go to the NASCAR hauler following the race.
