Hamlin had to do a pass through penalty for speeding on pit road with around eighteen laps to go in Stage one. He restarted way back in 31st place but was able to recover well, finishing the first stage in 19th place.
Hamlin spent stage two moving up through the pack. The final restart in the second stage had the No. 11 in first place. He would be bale to hang onto it and finish stage two as the winner.
The third stage started off with another penalty for Hamlin. This time for an uncontrolled tire in the No. 11’s pit stall. He would restart in 18th place but moved back up through the pack once more. Hamlin took the lead from his teammate Erik Jones in the No. 20 car on lap three hundred and four.
The No. 11 had one more pitstop where they took only fuel. This proved to be a great call for the Fed-Ex Toyota as Hamlin ended up in Victory Lane!
