Column By: JESSY MILLER / RPW – FONTANA, CA – Kyle Busch took the checkered flag in Fontana singing “All I ever do is win, win no matter what!” It was his second victory this season, his first coming last week at ISM Raceway.
This was Kyle Busch’s 200th NASCAR victory, (Trucks, Xfinity and Cup combined). Busch won his first Cup Series championship in 2015, and in 2018 had eight Cup series wins.
Busch’s team gave him a special ‘200 wins’ flag after the race was over and he did his Rowdy Bow on top of the No. 18.
Ironically enough, Busch was able to win his 200th win on Saint Patrick’s day in a green car! Busch started the day back in 4th, leading many laps. Kyle gave a very sentimental interview at the start/finish line.
Team Penske teammates Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski finished right behind Busch, even momentarily battling each other for the lead before Busch overtook them and won the race. Fourth place went to Kevin Harvick and Ryan Blaney ended in 5th.
Busch’s older brother Kurt Busch had a nice little message for him run his post race interview. “I’m proud of him and he continues to be the gold standard in this whole world of NASCAR, no matter if it’s Trucks, Xfinity, Cup. Those wins need to be acknowledged in the way that he’s able to do it week in and week out in all the different series. And he’s positioned himself well with all the team’s he’s been racing for, and that’s something to be proud of.”
