Story By: CAMDEN PROUD / OSWEGO SPEEDWAY – OSWEGO, NY – Several of Oswego Speedway’s drivers and teams are busy preparing for this weekend’s festivities at the 33rd annual Syracuse Motorsports Expo, which will be held at the New York State Fairgrounds.
With move-in already underway this afternoon, the speedway’s display is in the process of being setup inside the Center of Progress Building. The Lakeside Property Services 350 Super, which will sport a ‘Fireman’ Joe Paeno throwback scheme, is also enroute to the Expo.
Joining the No. 06 350 Supermodified to be piloted in 2019 by Barry Kingsley, is the No. 29 Midstate Basement Authorities Super Stock, which will be driven by Bill Frisbie Jr. in the Sunoco New York Super Stock Series Dave London Memorial on Bud Classic Weekend.
As part of the Expo, Oswego Speedway will host one driver autograph session on Saturday, March 9 and a second on Sunday, March 10. Both autograph sessions are scheduled for noon at the track’s booth.
In addition to Kingsley, a handful of competitors are expected to sign autographs including defending Pathfinder Bank SBS champion Anthony Losurdo, 2018 rookie of the year award winners Tyler Thompson and Josh Sokolic, plus Novelis Supermodified track record holder Joey Payne.
Marketing specialists Paul Conzone and Steve Quonce along with public relations director Camden Proud will be at the booth all weekend to answer your questions and pass out 2019 information including this year’s schedule.
A limited amount of Oswego Speedway merchandise, including the remaining Bentley Warren Hall of Fame Legend Series t-shirts, will be on sale at the track’s booth as well.
Expo hours this weekend are set for 10am to 8pm on Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sunday. Tickets are $13 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12 years of age, and FREE for children under the age of 5. A two day pass is available for $20.
Thompson and Payne will also participate in the inaugural Syracuse Indoor Race later today and again on Saturday evening. It will be held at the nearby Exposition Center. Tickets are still available at IndoorAutoRacing.com. Preliminary action, to be presented by Oswego Speedway, gets the green flag at 7:30pm on Friday and at 7:00pm on Saturday.
Oswego Speedway’s 69th season of racing will begin on Saturday, May 25 with Jim Shampine Memorial Twin 50’s for the Novelis Supermodifieds plus full programs for the Pathfinder Bank Small Block Supers and the 350 Supermodifieds.
