Column By: JESSY MILLER / RPW – LAS VEGAS, NV – It was all Pennzoil this weekend for the Monster Energy Cup Series. Defending series champion Joey Logano took the checkered flag in the Pennzoil 400 after an intense battle with teammate Brad Keselowski. The pair of teammates raced hard for the win during closing laps, trading the lead back and forth until Logano slid to the lead on the final lap.
Ironically, this was Logano’s 22nd win, and he was in the No. 22 Pennzoil racing in the Pennzoil 400- that’s a lot of Pennzoil! Logano lead most of stage two and even won it. The No. 22 pilot originally qualified in 10th. In his post race interview, amidst the praise for his team, mentioned that he and his team needed to work on qualifying- but that he thought they had the racing part down.
When Logano climbed out of the car at the start finish line, the cheers were thunderous.
