Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – BUFFALO, NY – Driver’s who compete in the Race of Champions Late Model Series race on Saturday, June 9th at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa., will now have an added bonus of the event being a qualifier for the Inaugural Canadian Short Track Nationals at Jukasa Motor Speedway in Hagersville, Ontario on Sunday, September 2, 2018.
The event at Jukasa will pay $25,000-to-win (CDN) and is designed to encourage Pro Late Model racers from throughout North America to participate and bring Late Model type racing back to prominence in the Southern Ontario and Western New York regions. The June 9th event at Lake Erie Speedway will provide a qualifying position to the winner of the race for Race of Champions Late Model Series and a bonus of $500 (CDN) if the winner shows up and attempts to qualify for the Canadian Short Track Nationals. The Canadian Short Track Nationals at Jukasa offers competitors the opportunity to participate with a versatile rules package created by Nagy.
The Race of Champions Late Model Series begins on Saturday, May 8 at Lancaster (N.Y.) National Speedway with Late Model Mania to kick off the 2018 Race of Champions season.
The Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series heads to Jukasa Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 14 for a double-header event with the International Super Modified Association (ISMA).
