Column By: JIM CLARKE / GRASSROOTS RACING – WOODSVILLE, ONT – Action in 2024 for the newly branded Ontario Legend Car Series is just around the corner and the father and son Grassroots Racing duo of Andrew and Cole McFadden is anxious for the year’s first green flag.
After following a calendar of selected events, the pair has announced plans to run the full provincial schedule, including the Great Lakes Legends Series with occasional treks into the Northern U.S. also on the line-up. To turn their plans into reality, the team is looking for some additional sponsorship support for the upcoming season.
“This is something that Cole and I have wanted to do for quite a while. We’re excited to finally get the chance to show what our team is all about,” explained Andrew McFadden. “We have packages to fit any need or budget, with promotional activities and special events at the track or the business site available throughout the year.”
From a home base of Woodville, Ontario, the Grassroots Racing duo brings a wide range of motorsports experience to the table as they work on their 2024 schedule. The team has a full summer of racing coming up and they can’t wait to see where their travels will take them.
Competing in the Mini Stock, Open Wheeled Modified and Legend Car Racing equipment from a young age, 26-year-old Cole McFadden scored his first career feature win in 2011 just before his 14th birthday, earning the youngster the nickname “On the Pole Cole”. His father Andrew worked as a high school teacher, while joining his son and running selected Legend Car events. He was also the promoter of the Grassroots Racing Series at Kawartha Speedway during the 2014 season.
