Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – NORTH EAST, PA – Participants that take part in the Presque Isle Downs & Casino Race of Champions Weekend at Lake Erie Speedway, September 25, 26 and 27 will have several people to thank, as three individuals stepped up put together lucrative lap and bonus programs that will benefit them.
These individuals that have established lap and bonus programs, continue to accept contributions.
Laura Schroeder of Buffalo, N.Y., a long-time and passionate race fan has spearheaded the Modified program She is selling laps for $20 per lap and has also secured a $250 bonus from TDS Suspension in Star, Idaho. Schroeder can be reached 716.868.5150 or by e-mailing Lschroed@alumni.keuka.edu. Payment can be made in the pits at Lake Erie, or via Venmo @LauraLooooo or PayPal Lschroed@alumni.keuka.edu. Schroeder will sell laps throughout the weekend at the event.
Tracy Thompson-Reilly has raised lap money at $54 per lap with over $3,200 in bonus monies already committed to be awarded to racers throughout the night as well a $54 award to a random crew chief. Scott Wylie from Blasdell, N.Y., who is a racer began a fund for his Father’s race and sold laps for $48 per lap, that snowballed into a race that has over $5,000 in posted bonus money. Wylie can be reached at wyliemotorsports@gmail.com for other bonus inquiries.
The efforts these individuals have put into these events should not go unnoticed. Race of Champions Modified Series management is truly grateful for their efforts and we encourage racers to reciprocate in regard to their efforts.
Tickets may be purchased for the weekend and will be available at the Lake Erie Speedway ticket office or at www.lakeeriespeedway.com. In the event that there is inclement weather, the event will be postponed to 2021, due to the prior commitment to Mahoning Valley Speedway and their Race of Champions Modified Series event on Saturday, October 3, with an agreed upon and announced inclement weather date of Saturday, October 10.
