Race of Champions Modifieds to take part in the Rod Spalding Classic Sunday
COLUMN BY: RACE OF CHAMPIONS MEDIA – TIOGA CENTER, NY – Sunday night, July 12, the Race of Champions Modifieds and Super Stocks roar into Shangri-La II Speedway for the first time in 2026 for the Rod Spalding Classic — a race to honor a man who was a member of the NASCAR Modified division, and well-known local driver.
The Classic was originally set for June 14, but due to an unfavorable forecast, the race was postponed.
Fans can expect to see the Modifieds go for 75 laps in his name around the historic paved track, along with the Super Stocks — who will be coming off of a fresh race from Friday night at Spencer — and FOAR Score Dashers keeping to high-paced momentum up all night long.
“We have a busy weekend ahead of us,” said Devin Gullo, a RoC Super Stock competitor. “Spencer on Friday and Shangi-La II on Sunday. Don’t miss either of these amazing events!”
