Andy Jankowiak goes ‘Back-to-Back’ to win at Wyoming County International Speedway Saturday

Column By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS MEDIA – PERRY, NY – Andy Jankowiak of Tonawanda, NY, redrew 2nd and wrestled the lead away from Kevin Timmerman of Ontario, NY at Wyoming County International Speedway “The Bullring” in Perry, NY to win his second Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series feature in as many nights.

“I’m tired after that one,” stated Jankowkiak, following victory lane. “Racing at places like this, where I group is so much fun but you have to be on the wheel and ready at any second. Shawn (Nye) got close to me, but we were able to hold him off. We’re off to a great start with this car this year. Thank you to everyone who helps us, the crew, my family and all of our supporters. Winning never gets old.

Shawn Nye of Lancaster, NY was able to come home second.

Alan Bookmiller of Castile, NY, was able to work his way from 10th to 3rd in the event.

George Skora, Jr., of Eden, NY and Timmerman rounded out the top-five.

Timmerman, Daniel Majchrzak of Perry, NY and Chris Finocchario of Macedon, NY won the qualifying races. Timmerman posted the fastest time in the final round of practice.

Robinson Returning to Form

In the Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series, Nick Robinson of Waverly, NY scored another victory.

Gene Purvis of Elmira, NY finished second, followed by Lucas Parrish of East Aurora, NY in third.

 Up Next

The Race of Champions “Family of Series” heads to Spencer Speedway in Williamson, NY this Friday for the Whittaker Ford F-50 for the Race of Champions Modified Series on Friday, June 5. On Saturday, June 6, it is the Seal Master 100 at Holland (NY) Speedway featuring the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series.
