COLUMN BY: Scott Running / STAFFORD SPEEDWAY- STAFFORD SPRINGS, C.T.When the 54th Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler® kicks off on Saturday, April 25th, the air will be filled with the rumble of the Granite State ProStock Series as part of the festivities.  The Granite State cars return to Stafford with title support from Casagrande Builders after last appearing at the Connecticut half-mile in 2021 during NAPA Spring Sizzler® Weekend.  The Granite State cars will qualify through heat races on Saturday before taking to the track for a 75-lap feature.

“We are looking forward to another ProStock race at our home track,” explained Rick Casagrande of Casagrande Builders. “We have been competing with the Granite State ProStock Series for a few years and we love any time we can get to race at our home track of Stafford. Looking at the entry list, it’s sure to be a great event, we’re glad to be a part of it, and hopefully we can win the race.”

Currently 20 teams have registered to compete in the Casagrande Builders 75.  The field will be comprised of a mixture of Granite State and Stafford Speedway regulars.  The last time the Granite State cars raced at Stafford the race was won by Joey Polewarczyk, who outlasted hometown hero Cory Casagrande to take the checkered flag.  Both drivers will be back in the starting field for this year’s edition of the Casagrande Builders 75.

Joining Polewarczyk and Casagrande in the Casagrande Builders 75 field will be former Stafford track champions Adam Gray and Jeremy Sorel.  There are also several former Stafford feature race winners including Tom Carey, Jr., Eddie MacDonald, Mike Scorzelli, and David Arute among the entered cars.  Also set to be in the starting field will be multi-time Seekonk Speedway track champion Dave Darling along with series regulars Angelo Belsito, Matt Beers, Bobby Pelland, III, Kevin Folan, Alex Quarterly, Evan Beaulieu, Jimmy Hebert, Joey Kendall, Dan Winter, and Jamie Wright.
