RPW Exclusive Column By: Stephen Durham / RPW – LOUDON, NH- Kaden Honeycutt will move onto the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs after a strong top 10 finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. It was a strongly executed weekend for Honeycutt and the Halmar Friesen Racing team.

At the beginning of the day for Honeycutt, he was 7th in the standings, 18 points above the cutoff line and started 15th. Honeycutt was happy overall with a strongly executed day.

“We finally had a well executed day. We’ve had really fast trucks the last three weeks, just had, you know, bad things happen to us,” Honeycutt explains, “but really excited to move on to the next round with this crew. I really feel like we got a legit chance to go to Phoenix.

Honeycutt says he has confidence heading into the next round of the playoffs, but it comes down to the details.

“I feel like the details are going to be at Roval and Talladega for sure. So it’ll just be a matter of how things happen. We’ll just have to go forward with it, with however it does, and we’ll just try to fight like hell to go to Phoenix and try to win a title.”

Honeycutt says it was great to have Stewart Friesen back at the track supporting Halmar Friesen Racing, and sitting atop the pit box.

“He’s awesome, man. He’s done nothing but been so helpful and he could easily be at home on the couch and recovering, but he’s not. He’s choosing to be here and support this race team,” Honeycutt explains, “I can’t say how much I appreciate him and he even chose me to let me finish a year for him. So this playoffs is for him, this team, more so it is for myself. I just want to do the best job I can for this crew. because they deserve it and yeah, I’m really excited to go on this next round and mix it up and try to get to Phoenix and see what we can do.”

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will head to the Charlotte Roval on October 3rd, then it’s off to Talladega Superspeedway on October 17th, then the cutoff race for Phoenix will be October 24th at Martinsville Speedway.
