High Stakes for Super Late Model Drivers at PASS 400 Weekend

Column By: Pro All-Star Series / STAR SPEEDWAY – EPPING, NH – The 2025 Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model season will conclude with a bang at Maine’s Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19. The expanded Spencer Paving Group PASS 400 features high stakes in more ways than one. Along with a whopping $100,000 potentially going to one driver in the richest PASS event of the season, the 2025 PASS North championship is also on the line during one huge weekend.

Contested across three segments of 100, 100, and 200 laps, the 400-lap main event has an impressive $187,900 in total awards. The payout includes $25,000 to the overall winner, $12,000 to the overall second-place finisher, and $8,000 to the overall third-place finisher. All 36 posted starters will receive a minimum of $1,500.
In addition, a $25,000 bonus is on the line for the winner of each segment. By sweeping the three segments, a single driver could take home six figures in prize money. Conversely, four drivers could take home $25,000-plus each, giving multiple Super Late Model programs a jolt — whether they be locals, PASS touring veterans, or invaders.
As if that wasn’t enough, each segment will award full PASS North points. By effectively having three features in one weekend, the 2025 championship won’t be decided until the final checkered flag, giving fans a fascinating subplot to go with the massive payouts. Teams will have 12 tires to use throughout qualifying and the main event, adding a further strategy wrinkle.
“The format, money, and title implications will make this a race for the ages,” PASS and Oxford Plains Speedway President Tom Mayberry said. “Some teams may elect to play it safe in pursuit of the overall win and/or championship points. Others will undoubtedly adopt an aggressive strategy and approach to try and capture one or more segment wins. It’s going to create a lot of action and give fans a memorable season-sending show.”
Some of the biggest names in PASS Super Late Model racing have already thrown their name into the conversation about who can take home the biggest prize. Celebration of America 300 winner Garrett Hall was the first to file an entry, followed soon after by newly minted Oxford 250 Champion Austin Teras.
Multi-time PASS Champions D.J. Shaw and Johnny Clark, 2024 Oxford SLM Champion Trevor Sanborn, current Oxford SLM point leader Scott McDaniel, and top PASS rookie Brandon Varney are also among the early entrants. Many more notables are expected in the coming weeks.
As with the PASS 400 events held in 2023 and 2024, Milk Bowl style scoring will determine the overall results. Each segment awards one point for finishing second, two points for finishing second, and so on. The top 25 finishers from segments one and two will be inverted to start the following segment. At the conclusion of the third and final segment, the lowest combined score is the overall winner. In the case of ties, the tiebreaker is the best finishing position in the final segment.
The segment one starting lineup will be set by 50-lap heat races on Saturday, October 18, and consolation race(s) on Sunday, October 19. Several events have been designated as PASS 400 qualifiers, including the Speedway 660 Pro Stock 250 on August 31 won by Travis Tucker, the Kennebec Equipment Rental PASS 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway, and the White Mountain PASS Spectacular on September 27. The UARA National Series also has a provisional starting spot at its disposal.
The entry form for the Spencer Paving Group PASS 400 is now available at www.proallstarsseries.com and www.oxfordplains.com, along with full event schedules and other information. Note that entries must be postmarked by Wednesday, October 1 to be eligible for the full segment bonuses.
The PASS 400 Weekend includes a flurry of other action-packed racing. K&K Property Management Twin 50s for the Kennebec Equipment Rental PASS Modifieds will decide their season championship. The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour has the Pine Tree State 125 while the ACT Flying Tiger Tri-State Series contests its 2025 finale. There are also big-dollar, non-point races for the Limited Sportsmen/Street Stocks, Mad Bombers, and Thunder Stocks.
