George Skora III Wins 24th Annual George Decker Memorial At Holland Speedway This Past Saturday

Column By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS MEDIA  – HOLLAND, N.Y –  George Skora, III of Eden, NY started 12th and steadily worked his way through the field to capture the victory in the 24th annual George Decker Memorial at Holland (NY) Speedway this past Saturday.

Skora took the lead after a hard fought battle with Andy Jankowiak of Buffalo, NY.

“We found a couple of issues in practice on Thursday and it helped give us a great car,” stated Skora in victory lane. “It just feels great to win this race. The Decker’s do a fantastic job. The race was a little long, but we were able to get it done. I’m proud of my team and thankful for my family and all my guys and their dedication to this team. This was just a great night for us.”

Bill Mislin of Tonawanda, NY, lead the early portions of the race before Jankowiak led for a stretch. Jankowiak finished second with Shawn Nye of Lancaster, NY third.

Mike Feibelkorn of Hamburg, NY wound up fourth with Jake Christman of Walnutport, PA, rounding out the top-five.

Feibelkorn, Skora and Joe Evans of Holland, NY and Kevin Timmerman of Ontario, NY, won the qualifying races. Jesse Kirchmeyer of Arcade, NY won the B-Main.

Additional Feature Winners at Holland Speedway

  • Race of Champions Super Stock Series: Jason Dieter (Lake View, NY) was declared the winner after Joe Mancuso was disqualified for a rear spoiler infraction (too high).
  • Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series: Trisha Connolly of Palmerton, PA, captured another feature victory in the division.
