Lancaster Motorplex Hosts $5,000 To Win “Ol’ Boy Cup” On Thursday

Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – LANCASTER, N.Y. – The Race of Champions Modified Series returns to Lancaster Motorplex this Thursday, June 26 for the ninth running of the Ol’ Boy Cup, a 60-lap sprint event paying $5,000 to win.

The Ol’ Boy Cup IX marks the Series’ first appearance at the half-mile asphalt oval this season, bringing top-tier Modified action to one of the region’s most storied venues.

Andy Jankowiak, of Buffalo, N.Y., heads into the event with momentum after capturing the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series victory this past Saturday at Holland International Speedway.

“It’s going to be a busy week for us,” said Jankowiak. “We’re looking forward to being back at Lancaster on Thursday. It’s always a big deal for us. We’ve been working hard to improve our Modified program, and hopefully we’ll be in contention at the end. It’ll definitely be an exciting night.”

The Race of Champions Modified Series will be joined by Lancaster Motorplex weekly divisions as part of a full night of racing. Green flag action begins at 6:30 PM.
