Rolling Out A Season Of Hometown Action At Peterborough Speedway; Opener May 17th

Story By: JIM CLARKE / PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY – PETERBOROUGH, ONT – Central Ontario is race ready and Peterborough Speedway is ready to go racing with the 2025 edition of the KX105.1 New Country Season Opener.
Saturday, May 17th opens this year’s schedule at the venue known for Making Memories for Life. Catch every exciting lap of action of the popular 3rd mile oval with the Battlefield Equipment Bone Stock, SwitchTire Mini Stock, Jiffy Lube Super Stock, Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing Renegade Truck and KOD Disposal Late Model divisions, plus the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Car Series.
Spectator grandstand admission is free and there will be a Fan Appreciation autograph session at intermission.
“Our staff and officials have been working on the new season’s line-up since the final checkered flag of last year’s Autumn Colours Classic,” said Peterborough Speedway track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “The promotional team’s off-season efforts will come to fruition very shortly and with some new drivers and teams expected to join the fray, it promises to be an exciting calendar.”
Spectator grandstands open at 3:00 and following the 2025 regular season opening ceremonies, the first Great Canadian RV green flag will kick-off the schedule at 5:00. Fans attending the annual Peterborough Speedway lid-lifter are encouraged to visit the track’s social media sites and register for a chance to win a family pass for the Saturday, June 14th 100 lap APC Late Model/50 lap Dayco Super Stock double header, that also includes a 50-lap feature event – paying $100 to start – for the home track favourite Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stocks.
With less than a couple of weeks to go before the season’s initial green flag, track officials have booked a pair of open practice sessions. The first is set for Saturday, May 10th from 11:00 ‘til 4:00, with next pre-race run lined-up for Thursday, May 15th from 4:00 until dusk. Anyone entering the pit area is reminded that a completed, current speed waiver is required. A link is available on the track website.
