RPW Exclusive: Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series Is Ready For 2025 Racing Season

Column By: STEPHEN DURHAM / RPW – SEEKONK, MA – It has been a cold and long winter in New England, and it’s been since early November that we’ve seen the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series take one last checkered flag on a spectacular 2024 season.
It was Matt Hirscham who’d be crowned champion for a 6th consecutive season, his 9th Monaco Modified Tri-Track championship. Now the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series is set to drop their first green flag of the 2025 season in just about two weeks at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.
The Propane Plus Heating & Cooling 75 at Thompson will kick off a 10 race schedule for the series this year, visiting several of New England’s best short tracks. Renee Dupuis, Director of Series Development for the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series says they are excited and feel so fortunate to have great partner tracks for the 2025 season who help make the series so successful.
“A big part of the success that we have had is partnering with these great New England facilities,” Dupuis says “We are really fortunate to have some of the finest racetracks in the country, and it’s a big thing, going to tracks that drivers and teams want to run at, and where fans want to show up to.”
When the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series visited tracks in 2024, they brought the numbers, averaging over 25 modifieds to show up across the entire season. Dupuis says everyone with the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series works hard to keep a strong relationship with their drivers.
“We are really fortunate to have so many great drivers and teams, we work really hard to foster a really good relationship with our competitors, drivers and car owners,” Dupuis says “it’s something we are really proud of and really work at.”
With racing series around the country, whether on pavement or dirt, there can sometimes be dozens of races as the yearly schedule. With a 10 race schedule, Dupuis says they try to make each one of their races, more than just a race, but a big event, while also spacing out the races across the whole year.
“We want to be really respectful to other modified series that are national or region, because we share a lot of crew members, we share some drivers,” Dupuis explains “we really try to avoid putting a squeeze on those guys. We also want to be respectful to other series around the region, because it’s also for the better of the sport.”
As we quickly approach the start of the season, drivers and teams have started to send in entry forms for races, and announcements have been made who will follow the Monaco Modified tour in 2025. The field is shaping up to be strong, with strong young talent such as Teddy Hodgdon, Luke Baldwin, and Austin Beers slated for full-time, with other veterans like Woody Pitkat and Jonathan McKennedy following full-time once again. Dupuis says its great for the series to have a mixed field of seasoned veterans and also young drivers coming on the series.
“Having some of these young up and comers that are competing in our series is great, especially Tommy Baldwin’s son,” Dupuis says “I remember being kids running around at these tracks and to now have his son come run with us, it’s a pretty cool thing.”
Luke Baldwin announced over the winter that he would be following the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series full-time in 2025, racing for NASCAR Cup Series driver and Whelen Modified Tour series champion, Ryan Preece. Luke is looking forward to being on the series.
“Really excited to join a new team and a new series. Ryan Preece has top notch racecars, and I’m excited to grow my relationship with that group,” Baldwin says, “Tri-Track is a series I’ve been watching for a couple years, and I can’t wait to join them.”
Woody Pitkat, came up home 2nd in the Tri-Track series championship in 2024, and this year he will team up with a different team for 8 of 10 races with Jett Motorsports, while racing at Stafford with Holmes Motorsports. Pitkat is really excited for the opportunity with Jett Motorsports and can’t wait to race with the series this year.
“The series itself is amazing. They’re a cast of people that I’ve known for many years now, going back to when I ran Stafford weekly,” Pitkat says “it’s such a laid back series, they really make you feel wanted and they really appreciate the competitors for being there.”
Pitkat took home a checkered flag last year at Star Speedway in September, and he’ll look to collect more this year. One track specifically he is after, came up one spot short at last year.
“I’m looking forward to White Mountain. It’s just a place I fell in love with the day I stepped foot on the facility. It is such a beautiful place,” Pitkat explains “Michaud does a great job there, and I wish I found that place earlier in my career, I’ve been close to winning on a few occasions, so I’m pumped to get back there.”
Another young hot-shoe with the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series, is Teddy Hodgdon, winner at Seekonk last June. It was his first full season with the series, and feel the series is pushing the region’s modified community to be more competitive and stronger.
“The support they give to teams and sponsors has driven other series to make positive changes for the modified community,” Hodgon explains “the competition is the deepest it has ever been with the drivers confirmed so far, it’s going to be an epic season.”
The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series will kick-off their season on March 29th, the Saturday portion of The Icebreaker Weekend at Thompson Motorsports Park. Make sure to follow the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series on their social media pages as they continue to announce entries for that weekend and for the full season ahead for 2025.
