Peterborough Speedway Releases Preliminary Schedule Of Events For ’25 Race Season

Story By: JIM CLARKE / PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY – PETERBOROUGH, ONT – Winter weather woes have been all too common of late.

The promotional team at Peterborough Speedway has found some light at the end of the tunnel with the release of the track’s preliminary 2025 schedule.

“Conflicting information from the Groundhog Day weather predictions raised the ire of race fans, so we’re doing our part to add some sunshine to everyone’s life,” said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “There is still some fine-tuning that needs to be done, but the version we’ve released through social media is very close to the final edition will have available at our booth during the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo – March 7th through 9th – at the International Centre in Toronto.”

As has become a Central Ontario motorsport’s tradition, the 2025 Peterborough Speedway schedule will kick-off Saturday, May 17th with the Pure Country 105 Season Opener, with free spectator grandstand admission and wraps-up with the 32nd annual APC Autumn Colours Classic, Friday to Sunday, October 10th to 12th.

In between, the venue known for Making Memories for Life will host a stretch of 15 straight Saturday night action, showcasing the best in local racing excitement and special guest divisions.

Provincial touring series have long been the perfect complement to Peterborough Speedway’s hometown racing line-up. This year’s menu features several familiar brands including APC Late Model and Dayco Super Stocks. Can Am TQ Midgets, Ontario Sportsman Series, OSCAAR Modifieds and Hot Rods and Ontario Outlaw Super Late Models.

OMRS teams will be on hand for 5 regular season dates, including the July 5th Bill Pickford Memorial, with 6 shows featuring the Trailers Plus Ontario Legend Cars.

“Our home track Bone Stock runners will get their chance in the spotlight with a 50-lap shootout Saturday, June 14th, while the Mini Stock teams get an extra-distance headliner Saturday, August 2nd,” said J.P. Josiasse. “We’re excited to get this year’s program underway and to see our short track favourites roll back into town.”
