Story By: JIM CLARKE / PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY – PETERBOROUGH, ONT – Since the opening night around the middle of May, racers have been earning points toward this year’s track championships at Peterborough Speedway.
Everything has led to a one-race shootout – Saturday, August 31st – for the Championship Clash at the venue known for Making Memories for Life. The track’s 6 weekly divisions will be joined by the OMRS Modifieds in a run for all the marbles. Also on the agenda for the regular-season wrap-up will be a group of Non-Winners Races. Pit gates will open at noon, with spectator grandstand access at 3:00 and racing at 4:00.
“It has all come down to this special night,” said track owner and promoter J.P. Josiasse. “Whether its sharing the excitement of a first-time winner or adding another notch in the belt of a multi-time titlist, the Championship Clash is one of our most popular events of the year.”
Get ready for a typical Saturday night short track showdown with everyone looking to gain a point or position that could see them earn the overall title at the popular Central Ontario layout. The standings in every division are closer than they’ve been in recent memory. The best of the best will put it all on the line for the big prize and the bragging rights that come along with being crowned a 2024 track champion.
Passes are available in advance through using the ‘buy ticket’ option on the track website or in person on raceday.
Peterborough Speedway is a cash only facility with an ATM available at the general admission gate.
