Story By: JIM CLARKE / CANADIAN LEGEND CAR SERIES – PETERBOROUGH, ONT – With 6 of the tour’s 14 rounds scheduled for the popular Central Ontario venue, Peterborough Speedway would be classed as the unofficial home track for the Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series.
For the first time since June 11th, the group will return to the layout known as Canada’s Toughest 3rd Mile for a Saturday, July 9th date.
“The branding and title sponsorship may have changed over the years, but in one form or another the Legend Car Series has been a fixture at Peterborough for as long as I can remember,” according to Canadian Legend Car Series owner and spokesperson Kevin Foisy. “J.P., Dave and the team at track have been good friends to us for quite a while.”
After picking-up the main event win Saturday, June 25th at Sunset, Parker Traves holds-down the top spot in the standings with a 32 point cushion over Hudson Nagy, the first of 4 rookie of the year contenders in the top 5. Jordan Latimer, Josh Inglis and Nick Portt and next in the running order, sitting at 239, 238 and 232 points respectively. Heading into this weekend’s date at Peterborough, 21 different drivers have scored points in at least one Canadian Legend Car Series main event.
