Tentative “Up-To-Date” Schedules For Race Of Champions ’22 Series’ Released
Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – ELMA, NY – Included within and attached is the current Race of Champions Family of Series ”to-date” schedules with nearly 50 races scheduled across all divisions.
The schedule gives fans an opportunity to visit premier racing facilities throughout the Northeast and has been built on traditionally scheduled weekend and dates.
These dates and locations will bring together traditional events with some exciting additions to the promotional calendar, giving everyone a variety of exciting events throughout the 2022 season to showcase the Race of Champions brand of racing. This schedule was released earlier this month.
An exciting 8 race schedule will highlight the Race of Champions Modified Series, culminating with the 72nd Annual Lucas Oil Race of Champions 250.
Holland International Speedway will once again bring back the “George Decker” Memorial for the Sportsman Modified Series along with the Rick Wylie Classic on Saturday, August 27. The George Decker Memorial is one of the most prestigious Sportsman events in the region. The Race of Champions Super Stock Series will be featured in the 3rd Annual Rick Wylie Classic 48.
A new speedway will join the Race of Champions Four Cylinder Dash Series. On Saturday, October 22, the Series will head to Painesville (Ohio) Speedway for the first time in what promoter, Randy Maggio, Jr., has tabbed as an “event purely focused on Compact and Four Cylinder racers.
Chemung Speedrome promoter, Ray Hodge has had the desire to add a special event at Chemung Speedrome and it will take place on Saturday, August 6, with the Sportsman and Super Stock Series highlighting the bill. The Super Stocks will run the Tribute to Ray McGuire 51.
“In regard to some of the dates conflicting with events at other facilities, we would like to recognize that other than the July 9 date which is new and the August 6 date at Chemung all of these dates have been built around the traditions we have established and are scheduled on or around the same date each year. These dates were modeled after the dates they were run at other facilities in past years, where those same facilities have now changed dates. Constantly chasing a moving target does not help fans or competitors when planning which events they will be attending during the race season. This dates back to the planning stages of the 2020 season which was affected adversely by the pandemic and is well documented. Race of Champions management has worked with the tracks to remain consistent for fans and competitors with our race dates,” explained Joe Skotnicki, Race of Champions.
Race of Champions management will update the schedule with any changes as they may become available.
