RPW Column: A Big 2021 Racing Season On The Horizon For Frankie L’Etoile Jr. At Stafford
Column By: BRITTANY NUTILE / RPW – WETHERSFIELD, CT – The 2021 season will be Frankie L’Etoile Jr.’s 15th year of racing and he shows no signs of slowing down.
Of those 15 years, the last eight have seen L’Etoile racing in the Street Stocks division around the Northeast. He’s collected two division championships at Stafford Motor Speedway, Rookie of the Year on the North East Street Stock Tour and top rookie honors in the Limited Late Model division at Stafford in 2016.
L’Etoile started racing when he was in his mid-teens at Stafford when the speedway began their Wild Thing Kart program. He always wanted to race as a kid and the karts at Stafford made that possible.
The 2021 racing campaign at Stafford should be very similar to last year for Frankie. What does he see for the new season?
“My goal is to start and finish every race,” L’Etoile said. “I want to do that while getting the most out of the car every night. If I can accomplish that, and just race with my head, the results will speak for themselves.”
How does L’Etoile feel about the competition he has to race against weekly?
“There will always be fast cars to beat,” he said. “Whoever it is, we know we have to beat everyone. We worry about ourselves and improving as a team instead of who will or won’t be there.”
Will there be any surprises for the new year?
“We are planning on debuting our modified this year,” he said. “At least for a few races so that should be a fun opportunity as well.”
Frankie’s overall goals are to win the Stafford Street Stock championship and actually qualify for a couple Modified races. He has a lot of racing experience under his belt and also a lot of knowledge from his family. Both his father and grandfather raced so the skies the limit.
