RPW Column: Meghan Fuller’s Set To Take On Stafford Motor Speedway’s SK Light Division In ’21

Column By: BRITTANY NUTILE / RPW – SPENCER, MA – Year 2021 will be Stafford Motor Speedway racer Meghan Fuller’s first in the SK Light Modified division.
Even though she’ll be a rookie, Fuller will be entering her 13th season in the sport.
The young Spencer, MA driver started racing in the Limited Sportsman Series at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park just four years ago. She moved to Stafford one year later and 2020 was her third season racing in the track’s Street Stock Division.
“My goals for 2021 are to get a feel for the car,” Fuller said. “It’s going to be a big adjustment. I feel that with the knowledge I’ll have behind me, with those who plan to help me, I’ll learn a lot.”
What else is Fuller aiming at this coming season?
“I want to bring the car back to the trailer in one piece each week,” she said. “I just want to be able to drive the best that I can.”
While Meg talked about what her goals are for the season, she also discussed how she feels about being in a SK Light this year. She’s very excited to move up from the Street Stocks to the open-wheel division.
“We accomplished a lot in Street Stocks,” she said. “I just felt like I was ready to move up, as long as we found the financial support we needed.”
Fuller believes some of the biggest challenges she’s set to face will be learning the correct throttle control and getting used to an open-wheel car again. As stated earlier, she’s run full-fendered cars the past four seasons.
