RPW Column By: JOHN DOUGLAS / RPW – NANUET, NY – It seems another bounty has sprung up early in the 2020 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series.
This time, for series regulars who compete on a weekly basis.
Chris Larsen of Halmar Friesen Racing in a conversation with Michael Waltrip indicated that he would put $50,000 of his own money on the line if any truck series regular could beat Kyle Busch at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday March 14th.
The Halmar Bounty will be awarded if Kyle Busch is competing, and running, at the end of the race.
Waltrip made it known to the public over social media in a tweet:
So cool! Just talked to Chris, the owner of @StewartFriesen @HalmarRacing team is putting up a $50k bounty for a REGULAR @NASCAR_Trucks driver that beats @KyleBusch @amsupdates That makes it a lot more interesting! Carrots for all! @marcuslemonis @GanderRV wanna match? #LetsGo

Larsen has released the following statement:
“We love Kyle. He is a true warrior! But, we have so many talented truck series regular teams, and we know first hand the the level of work they put in. We want to give the drivers and teams, who are the bedrock of the series, a bounty to shoot for. We are looking forward to seeing how Stewart Friesen performs behind the wheel of the Halmar International #52 Toyota Tundra during these upcoming races as well. We are confident in our Halmar team!”
