The 3-race series will be racing for over $10,000 in Cash and prizes with $200 guaranteed prize money for taking the green flag each night.
Teams from the New York Pennsylvania TQ Midget Organization (NYPA), The East Coast TQ Midgets, the ATQMRA, Can-Am, ROC TQs and the Florida Midget Racing will all be taking part in the series. Registration for the series will be limited to 24 cars and a Gambler’s Points Fund will pay the high points participants for the series Championship.

Jimmy Smith, a staunch supporter of TQ Midget Racing in the Northeast and track promoter at Chapel Hill Raceway in western NY, put a deal together to return Northeast TQ Midget Racing to the Sunshine State in February of 2020 at Showtime Speedway and 4-17 Southern Speedway.
The TQs will take part in the 1st annual Dave Steele Wingless Sprint Car Classic at Showtime Speedway Near Clearwater FL on Thursday February 20th and be back on the 21st to Showtime to run with the track’s regular divisions. Showtime will host a practice session on the 19th to help teams acclimate to the speedway.
The finale for the series will be at Punta Gorda’s 4-17 Southern Speedway on Saturday February 22nd where the TQ Midgets will be the headliner.
Northern teams rules will be 2003-13 suzuki GSXR 750cc engines, 55-inch-wide outside to outside of the tires. NYPA/Can-am spec American Racer Tires and 890 minimum weight with driver. The upright Florida tq’s will use a softer American Racer tire with a minimum weight of 850 lbs. Contact JSMP for tires, all tires must be pre-ordered.(northern teams only).
This series is a bit of a revival of the series promoted by Harry Macy back in the 1970s and will mark the first time Northeast TQ Midgets will race in Florida since the late 70s. The Macy Run Series took place at the Legendary Daytona Memorial Stadium on dirt.
The revival some 40 years later will be on the Gulf coast at two of Florida’s premier short tracks at Showtime Speedway and 4-17 Southern Speedway.
Florida Local front runner Jimmy Wilkins will lead the Florida Contingent who holds a home field advantage since they run both speedways regularly. ROC TQ Midget Champion Andy Jankowiak will be behind the wheel of the Jimmy Smith 01 in the series as well as NYPA Multi-Time Champion Kyle Hutchinson in the Casey’s Truck World 88. ATQMRA Rookies of the Year Mark Yoder and Dave Gorbatuk will be trekking south as well as 2019 CFFC Open Wheel Rookie of the Year Tyler Wagner who was a 3-time winner with the East Coast TQ Midgets.
Yoder will be in his own Spitfire 75 while Gorbatuk and Wagner will be in Metz Racing BGF Motor and Chassis Mounts. NYPA regulars Jim Fleishman and Chad Haywood as well as Chads brother Chester will be racing in the Sunshine State Series. Pat Smith, Kevin Wilson, AJ Hessler and host of others from NYPA will also be running in the series. Luc Munsie from the Can-am tq midgets will also be making the drive down.
