Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / JASON SIMMONS RACING – SYRACUSE, NY – Tyler Thompson is now a six-time main event winner at the NYS Indoor Kart Championships in Syracuse, NY, following two more victories over the weekend.
The indoor championships in Syracuse provided two days of racing with Flathead action on Friday and Clone competition on Saturday.
Friday evening saw Thompson claim the Stock Medium main event title over indoor veteran Ryan Kendall and Jordan Hill.
To cap the evening, Thompson took part in the Pro 4-Cycle main event with a third-place finish in the finale behind Tyler Brown and Doug Stearly.
Saturday saw Thompson compete in three divisions including Champ Animal, Clone Heavy and PRO Clone.
Thompson once again showed his skill in the Champ division, driving away to the victory in the day’s main event over PRO 4-Cycle winner, Brown. The victory marked the second consecutive year that Thompson earned the Champ Animal title at Syracuse.
In the flat kart, Thompson battled hard with top runners Stearly and Jon Keister, finishing third to the potent duo in both Clone Heavy and PRO Clone.
In total, Thompson added two main event wins to his indoor resume while finishing on the podium in every main event he competed in over the weekend driving for Slack Karts and Performance Manufacturing.
Thompson will next travel to the prestigious King of the Concrete in Greensboro, NC on December 14-15 where he will battle for the top prize of $3,000.
