Column By: BOBBY CHALMERS / RPW – PENSACOLA, FL – Stewart Friesen is making the most of his time at the 2018 Snowball Derby.
Friesen, who finished seventh in the 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point standings and most recently won the Eastern States 200 at the Orange County Fair Speedway, time trialed 14th for the crown-jewel event this weekend. He is running the infamous #112 that veteran and Dirt Modified Hall of Fame member Gary Balough once carried.
“This has been one amazing week down here,” Friesen said. “It’s been pretty awesome. Time Trial night on Friday was electric.”
Weather played a role on Saturday as the final round of practice was washed out setting up for the main event on Sunday.
“Friday night, the place was paced,” he said. “This is an experience. I don’t know how our car will be. It’s been touch and go down here but we’ll do our best to try and get to the front.”
