Column By: AMY HARROP / RPW – LOUDON, NH – The K&N Pro Series returned to New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday with the United Site Services 70.
Tyler Ankrum powered away with the early lead, but Harrison Burton was all over him by lap 21.
At the halfway mark, Ankrum was still in the lead, holding off Burton, and was catching drivers at the tail end of the field.
The #40 of Anthony Alfredo made his way to the inside of Derek Kraus for third on lap 40, capturing the spot that lap.
After suffering from a bent truck arm bracket yesterday after qualifying, Maine’s own Reid Lanpher went a lap down on lap 42 after being unsure about whether or not he could even start the race.
Tyler Ankrum was all checked out by lap 50, eventually taking home the victory.
Harrison Burton, Anthony Alfredo, Tyler Dippel and Derek Kraus rounded out the top five.
The victory was Ankrum’s third victory this season, his rookie year in the division.
“The guys gave me a really fast race car and I’m thankful for it,” Ankrum shared in Victory Lane.
Ankrum hopes to carry on the momentum next weekend at Iowa Speedway.
The division will return to NHMS on September 22nd for the track’s Full Throttle Race Weekend.
We hope to see you there!
