Story By: CAMDEN PROUD / OSWEGO SPEEDWAY – OSWEGO, NY – Fresh off non-wing victories less than a week ago in the Jim Shampine Memorial Twin 50’s at Oswego Speedway, Dave Shullick Jr. and Chris Perley will face off in ISMA competition this weekend at the Delaware and Lancaster Speedways.
Shullick, driving the Bodnar Racing No. 95, and Perley, wheeling the same Vic Miller owned Hawk car he won with this past weekend at Oswego Speedway, will first head north of the border to Delaware, Ontario on Friday evening before returning to competition in New York State Saturday, June 2 at the Lancaster Speedway.
The pair of Shullick and Perley has combined for nearly 100 total ISMA wins and the possibility lingers that both drivers may very well be back in action at Oswego Speedway next weekend should Perley elect to return and compete for another non-wing victory in the No. 44 following his first career wingless triumph this past Saturday.
Defending speedway champion Shullick won back to back ISMA championships in 2015 and 2016 for car owner Jim Bodnar as well as the final two ISMA races contested last season in the Star Classic 150 and the World Series at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in Connecticut. Should ‘The Shoe 2’ return to victory lane tomorrow evening, it will be the third straight winged checkered flag for the Ohio driver.
Other competitors who were in attendance last weekend at Oswego that also plan to join the ISMA contingent Friday and Saturday include Dan Bowes, who made his first two non-wing starts in the Twin 50’s driving to two top ten finishes, along with the dedicated Morton Motorsports camp of Dave McKnight and Gary Morton who will aim to improve upon their runner-up finish at Lancaster a year ago.
With Michael Muldoon, Trent Stephens, Jon McKennedy, Mike McVetta, Talon Stephens, Ben Seitz, Rich Reid, Mike Ordway Jr, Moe LIlje, Mark Sammut, Mike Lichty, Tim Jedrzejek, and more all expected to join the fray, competition is sure to be stiff this weekend on the ISMA trail.
Oswego Speedway returns to action next Saturday, June 9 when A&P Auto Parts presents the ‘Spring Championship’ featuring a 50-lap Novelis Supermodified main event plus a 30-lap feature for the Pathfinder Bank SBS.
