Story By: CAMDEN PROUD / OSWEGO SPEEDWAY – OSWEGO, NY – After three exciting features rang in the new year for Oswego Speedway this past Memorial Day Weekend, the track will go quiet Saturday, June 2 in observance of the ISMA event at Lancaster Speedway before returning to action for the ‘Spring Championship’ on June 9 presented by A&P Auto Parts.
Following an earlier start May 26, racing will get underway at the regularly scheduled time of 6:45pm next weekend and feature a full program of preliminary action before 50 and 30-lap main events for the Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank SBS are contested.
Currently, Keith Shampine leads the Supermodified contingent into the month of June after scoring two podium finishes in each of the Jim Shampine Memorial Twin 50’s this past weekend driving the Osetek Racing No. 55 with Michael Barnes and Otto Sitterly tied for second just nine points behind the defending International Classic polesitter.
Not much has changed as far as the Small Block Super standings go to kick off 2018 as the defending track champion for the past two seasons, Dave Cliff, leads the Pathfinder Bank SBS ‘Road to the Championship’ for now after an Opening Night victory in the Tim Barbeau owned No. 50 machine. Russ Brown and Anthony Losurdo sit second and third in points, respectively.
