Story By: MIKE PARKS / GRANITE STATE PRO STOCKS – WALPOLE, NH – Jacob Dore driving the #05 overcomes an incredibly stout field to take home his first victory in a full bodied car at Claremont Speedway this past Saturday night. #14 Matt Frahm of Salem, N.H. Pressured Dore in the closing laps but spun out with just a few laps to go. “I was getting nervous with Matt but, I trust him a lot, we’ve raced together before, I didn’t think we were as fast as he was.” Dore said.
23 cars began the 100 lap feature presented by Springfield Buick GMC. The competition was close as after final practice, the top 12 cars were within one tenth of a second. But, by lap 3 a few cars had been retired after a melee where the #93 of Ryan Greene of Berick, M.E. ended up on top of the #9H driven by Kyle Welch of Newport, N.H. Which drew out the red flag.
His entire ride side body work removed #73 Joey Doiron finished second. “I would like to have a little less damage and hopefully things will settle down after everyone got this one under their belt.” Doiron said. “We’ll be ready for Waterford and I think it will be a track we will run really good at.
Drivers Jimmy Renfrew Jr, Kyle Welch, Jeff Jolly, Devin O’Connell, Josh King, and Ryan Greene had significant damage early on in the feature.
2017 ARBodies Rookie of the Year Scott MacMichael of Newbury, N.H. finished third, “It was awesome! I probably should have been fifth but with Frahm spinning later in the race things just worked out.” MacMichael said.
The Granite State Pro Stock Series presented by Springfield Buick GMC will be returning to the Waterford Speedbowl Saturday, May 26th for a unique race format. Triple 35 lap features with time trials setting the field.
