Story By: MIKE PARKS / GRANITE STATE PRO STOCK SERIES – WALPOLE, NH – The 2018 GSPSS presented by Springfield Buick GMC will have to wait one more day to kick off the 2018 race season.
Claremont Speedway Owner Jim Ambrose and GSPSS president Mike Parks have decided that with the incoming showers and Thunder storms through out the afternoon and evening it just didn’t make sense to make the fans and competitors battle the weather today.
Parks stated “We have a built in rain-date for tomorrow May 5th and the weather looks great so that is what we are going to do”.
The race day schedule will be 100% the same as what was in place for Friday, Pit gates for GSPSS (only) Opens at 1:30pm with practice at 4:30 and heats hitting the track promptly at 7:00pm.

Set to return to its roots, the Granite State Pro Stock Series presented by Springfield Buick GMC will be 26 plus cars strong for 100 laps at Claremont Speedway this Friday May 4th.
Defending champion Mike O’Sullivan of Sixteen Acres, M.A. Has his sights set on holding his crown for the 2018 season. “Defending the title will be tough but, I’m excited to see if all the hard work we’ve put in this off-season will pay off” O’Sullivan said.
Claremont Speedway is an interesting 1/3 mile oval with fantastic grip and not a bad seat in the house. “The track is like our home, and it always puts on a great race with two groves to work with.” President Mike Parks said.
Admission to the front gate is just $20.00 for any fans and opens at 4:00pm. Pits open at 1:30 p.m with $35 admission, practice starts at 4:15 p.m. and qualifying races set to begin at 7 p.m.
In the unfortunate event of inclement weather on Friday, series officials will speak with track staff and make an announcement as soon as possible. IF for any reason the race is postponed, it will be run Saturday, May 5th under the same event schedule.
Running for ARBodies Rookie of the Year Uscasville, C.T. Driver Ray Christian III looks forward to making some more fine adjustments for the 100 lap feature. “It’s a little snug in the center of turns three and four but it’s very drivable.” Christan III said.
Hoping for better luck, returning contender Cory Casagrande of Stafford Springs, C.T. Has high expectations that his Chalew Performance #7 will unload off the trailer strong. “You really have to make sure you pick a good number for heat race placement, it makes a good result so much tougher if you don’t.” Casagrande said.
